1. Acknowledgment and Assumption of Risk
I, the undersigned parent or guardian, understand that my child will be participating in physical activities at Star Spirit (operated by Star Spirit Athletics Ltd), which may include cheerleading, dance, tumbling, gymnastics, and/or aerial arts. I acknowledge that these activities carry inherent risks, including but not limited to sprains, strains, bruises, cuts, fractures, concussions, and—in extremely rare cases—serious injury or death. While Star Spirit provides experienced supervision, safety protocols, and high-quality instruction, I understand that these risks cannot be entirely eliminated.
2. Medical Clearance
I confirm that my child is in good health and has no medical conditions that would prevent them from safely taking part in activities at Star Spirit. If I had any concerns about their participation, I have consulted a medical professional and obtained appropriate clearance.
3. Personal Responsibility
I agree to support my child in following all safety rules and instructions provided by Star Spirit staff and coaches. I understand that these guidelines are in place to protect every participant, and that failure to follow them may increase the risk of injury. I will also ensure my child knows to speak with a staff member immediately if they feel unwell, experience pain, or have any concerns during their time at Star Spirit.
4. Waiver and Release
In consideration of my child’s participation at Star Spirit, I release and hold harmless Star Spirit, its directors, staff, instructors, and representatives from any and all liability for injury, loss, damage, or death, except where such is caused by negligence on the part of Star Spirit or its team.
5. Emergency Medical Treatment
If an accident, illness, or injury occurs while my child is participating in activities, I authorise Star Spirit to seek emergency medical care on my behalf, should I not be immediately reachable.
6. Photography and Media Release
I give permission for Star Spirit to take photographs and videos of my child during classes, training, events, or other activities, and to use these images for promotional and marketing purposes. I understand that I will not receive compensation for the use of these materials. If I prefer for my child not to appear in any media, I will notify Star Spirit in writing at hello@starspirit.co.uk before participation begins.
7. Behaviour and Conduct Expectations
Star Spirit is a place where respect, safety, and positive energy are expected from every participant and parent. If a child displays behaviour that is unsafe, disruptive, or disrespectful, or if a parent behaves in a way that impacts the wellbeing of the session or others, Star Spirit staff reserve the right to remove them from the activity. Verbal warnings will always be given where appropriate, but if behaviour does not improve, removal may be immediate. In such cases, no refunds or credits will be issued.
8. Severability
If any provision of this agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable under applicable law, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
